Certified Professional Accountants Afghanistan (CPA Afghanistan) is the accountancy body of Afghanistan responsible for regulating all the audit firms and professional accountants. CPA Afghanistan officially starts its operations from March 2018 as directed and instructed by H.E Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

Under the CPA Afghanistan Law, Article 5, no person (Legal or Physical) can practice without a valid practicing license awarded by the CPA Afghanistan Law.

The very first step is the registration process and all audit firms carrying out audit engagements should register with CPA Afghanistan by 15th June 2018 in order to gain the practicing license. After the registration deadline, only registered firms will be the approved practising firms eligible for carrying out their audit engagements in Afghanistan.
